Five years ago today, I married this man:
And then, as now, as always--
laughter has bound us, freed us,
saved us, lifted us.
We laugh. We cry.
We laugh again.
In five years of marriage (nearly eleven of togetherness), not a day has gone by without laughter. It doesn't matter what. Or why. A giggle, a guffaw. It all counts. Because even amidst the sorrow, the heartache, the death, the chaos that sometimes swirls around us, the struggles we face--we face them together, with laughter to lift us.
I couldn't ask for anything more.
Happy anniversary to my love, my best friend, the man who lights up any room, the one who is dearly familiar yet ever new. May we never lose our laughter.
