let go, hang on: Thanksgiving Thursday

I have a revolving door policy at the local senior center rummage sale: I drop off bags of Stuff no longer useful to me, then mosey on in and find something that brings me joy.

I know, I know: the point of decluttering is to, umm, declutter. Right?

Maybe.

Maybe, for me, it's more about letting go
of what no longer serves me

and hanging on
to what makes me
come alive.

(Even if it's a strange mix of a sweetly home-recorded "irregular acapella" group who make banjos and mandolins appear out of thin air, formed only by lips . . . two bohemian necklaces that shimmy and shake and jingle and sparkle . . . bright and cheerful yellow totes . . . and tired-out books that I will gently cut apart, sand, gesso, and re-paint with my own truth.)

(a peek at one of my "new" sunny totes)

Today I give thanks
for someone else's let go
that helps me
hang on.

What will you give today?
What will you take?

Such a lovely post Amanda. Whenever I hang on to something "just in case" I try to imagine someone who actually needs it. It makes letting go much easier. xx

I love what "gets given"
to my spirit
when i come around here:)
I send back loads of love
and bright hope
for lift
and laughter
and lullabyes of peace:)
love,
Jen

ah . . . to know what to let go of, and what to hang on to . . .sometimes methinks I get those two reversed . . . but the universe is kind and gives me more opportunities to get it right :)
